The Eternal Capital of the King of Dwarka
Standing regally at the confluence of the sacred Gomti River and the Arabian Sea, the Shri Dwarkadhish Temple (revered as the Jagat Mandir) is one of the supreme Char Dham pilgrimage shrines of India and the holiest of the Sapta Puris. According to tradition, the main sanctum was originally established over 2,500 years ago by Vajranabha, the great-grandson of Lord Krishna, on the eternal grounds of Hari Griha (Lord Krishna's residential palace).
Supported by 72 exquisitely sculpted stone pillars, the towering 5-story sandstone temple rises to an imposing height of 78 meters (256 feet), dominated by a multi-tiered spire that can be seen from miles away across the Saurashtra coast.

The 52-Gaj Dhwajarohan: Changing the Cosmic Flag
The monumental triangular flag fluttering atop the temple shikhara measures 52 yards (52 Gaj) in length and depicts the emblems of the Sun and Moon. It is hoisted five times daily by the hereditary priests (Abloti Brahmins). The number 52 symbolizes the 52 administrative gates of ancient Dwarka and the 52 divine Yadav chieftains. Booking a Dhwajarohan sponsorship is considered one of the highest spiritual honors, often reserved two years in advance.
