Where Sacred River Gomti Meets the Roaring Sea
Descending 56 stone steps from the southern Swarga Dwar of the Dwarkadhish Temple brings pilgrims onto the holy banks of Gomti Ghat. It is here that the sacred Gomti River, said to have been brought from heaven by Sage Vashishta, culminates its journey by merging into the Arabian Sea at the Gomti Sangam.
Holy Bathing & The Chakra Teerth
Taking a sacred dip at the Gomti Sangam is considered deeply purifying. Directly at the river mouth stands the ancient Samudra Narayan Temple (dedicated to the God of the Oceans), flanked by the Chakra Teerth where distinctive white petrified ammonite stones known as Gomti Chakras are naturally formed.
Crossing the Sudama Setu Suspension Bridge
Connecting the main ghats to the sandy Panchanad beach on the southern bank is the Sudama Setu, an engineered pedestrian suspension cable bridge. Walking across the bridge at sunset provides spectacular panoramic views of the entire Dwarkadhish Jagat Mandir spires and crashing ocean waves.
